Honeymoon!

We finally got our honeymoon!!! For our one year anniversary we went to Catalina Island off the coast of California. It was the perfect honeymoon for us! We did Island tours and did some rock climbing, rented a kayak and went out on the ocean, and spent some time on the beach! Catalina had the perfect mix of guided tours and options for doing your own thing. We loved it!
We stopped in Montana on the way and dropped off Ella and on our way home we stopped in Salt Lake to visit with Mike's family. There are a lot of pictures today!

At Long Beach Airport. Officially on our Honeymoon!

Boat to Catalina.

HUGE cruise boat.

Gorgeous Weather!

First view of Catalina!

Garden of the Hotel. Where we had cheese and wine every afternoon.

Avalon Casino. Not a gambling casino. The word for Casino in Italian means a place of gathering and entertainment. When the Casino was built in 1929 gambling areas were called gambling halls.

Inside the Casino. The largest circular ballroom in the world.

The chandelier comes down to the floor for changing light bulbs.

Birds of Paradise are everywhere!

Original Catalina tile fountain.
Bell tower. Tolls every 15 minutes from 8am to 8 pm.

Semi-submersible.

We didn't have time to fit para-sailing in.

Bison were brought over for a movie and they couldn't round them up when they left.

Our Anniversary!

Awesome mini-golf course. This was a par 6 that spiraled.

The pro.

Original pipe organ. They still use it for the silent film festival.

Gorgeous theater in the casino.

Descanso Beach. The "real" beach.

We rented one for an hour! We got about 10 feet from a sea lion!

On the beach.

Wrigley monument.

View from the top.

Jeep we took on one of the tours.

Avalon from the top!

Oldest house in Avalon.

Our room!

Mt Ada. The Wrigley's mansion. Now a hotel.

Puppy Love and Updates!

We have been doing a few more house projects! We repainted our master bath. It was green before and we painted it a very light tan. It looks great! While we were at it we changed the light fixtures in the bathroom too! Mike is finally off Indoc and has flown twice as a fully certified C-130 pilot! YAY!!! I have been busy working with the Red Cross as a Shelter Readiness Team Leader. The team is getting procedures in place and making sure we are locally prepared for a disaster. As always there are pictures of the pup! Enjoy!

Sleeping.

It looks so much cleaner!

Hopefully we will get some kind of decoration for above the mirror.

Old fixtures.

New fixtures!

Tray made out of a frame and paper. This one is in the guest bedroom.

This one is on my desk. Just a little thing to make our house a home!

Painting I made of an old 61st patch. Early Anniversary Present!

Ella follows Mike around when he mows the lawn.
